A hero lost

I heard the news today.
A hero had died.
I didn’t know the man,
But I still cried.

He graduated summa cum laude
In the minimum time.
But, he chose to go with the grunts
And lay his life on the line.

He said he’d make a million,
Even before he was thirty.
Not by playing the game he loved,
But by getting down and dirty.

We need more men like Tilly,
But they’re hard to find.
Maybe his actions will
Inspire a nation to be of like mind.
