The Pebble
She spied an object on the shore that had been rubbed smooth by the waves massaging its very core.
It was a pebble. But, maybe more.
It was an integral part of the cosmological flow which emanates from all things.
A pebble, for sure.
But, when she looked more closely, she saw that it could be more.
She picked it up and, without any thought, casually tossed it into the lake.
The pebble slowly sank into the murk and disappeared.
But its essence was shown by the waves emanating from its entry point into the water.
Waves of life.
A pebble, sure.
Destined to exist only in the dark now.
But, its presence in the cosmos was felt for a fleeting second.
A pebble. But, much more.
