And then the left shall lead…

We’re coming off a bad few years.

We had a dream that we could establish a true democracy in a sectarian theocracy. Even though it was a noble gesture, we failed miserably.

We were unilaterally attacked by a maniacal cult and responded with unrelenting resolve. As with many confrontations in the past, punches were countered until the animosity between adversaries was not about principle, but about societal domination.

The diverse outer edges of our society are sniping at each other and pulling the middle into the fray.

We should be ready for a fundamental change. What we are doing now is not working. But, is there a solution? We may need a fundamental transformation of the societal continuum.

There are a myriad of solutions. Hundreds of right answers. But, what we need is a leader to articulate one of these solutions so that the masses can respond favorably. But, before we go about finding a leader to pull us down that revolutionary path, let’s decide what our goals are at a high level.

It’s simple, really. We need to create a society where all people abide by the goal to live up to their potential every day in every way. No slackers on this ship. Everybody pulls his weight. If we see someone falling to the side even though he is trying as hard as he can, only then will we reach out a helping hand to pull him up out of the morass that is complacency and the submission to inevitability.

So, now that we know our goal, let’s go find us a leader. Where do we start? Well, our society has evolved into a state that will only accept certain personalities. He must be rich. He can’t have any skeletons in his closet. He must be married and have two and one half kids. Towheads are a must. A law degree from an Ivy League college is de rigueur. He must be either famous or infamous before he even decides to run. He must be able to manipulate the media in such a way that the media doesn’t know that they are being manipulated.

However, the one requirement which eliminates most candidates is the slacker law. It should be written in stone that no one who approves of societal slackers shall be allowed to roam the hallowed halls which our leaders walk.

These requirements eliminate most of the population of our country. I estimate that less than one tenth of one percent of the population will qualify. Let’s take a look at some recent leaders and attempt to determine if they would now be qualified to lead us into this new normal. The only men in my life who approach that ideal that we now have are JFK and FDR. What they both had in common was the ability to manipulate the media. Too bad, though. They’re gone. We need to look at today’s current crop.

We could discuss hundreds of potential candidates. However, I’m going to pick one and give my reasons for my selections. I just want to start the dialog. Since this problem has no solution and there actually is no candidate who can stand up to our scrutiny, this is just really a brain infarction. But, let’s proceed, anyway.

My candidate to lead us into the no slacker society is…tuh duh…

Condi…, no I mean McCa…, er, Jeb, er…

Come on. Let’s get serious. There is no human able to take over and lead us. What we need is a robot controlled by a powerful, state-of-the-art computer. Hell, we have robotic devices which can clean our carpets and diffuse our bombs. We have computers which can be daisy chained together to compute the value of pi to the googol decimal place. We have computers that can talk and compute at the same time. The lowest level human is only a stumble and a fall away from slipping below the artificial intellect of Windows XP.

Let’s face it. We now have a complete generation of kids who don’t understand the difference between real life and Grand Theft Auto. We have animations of people which are more perfect than any real human being could ever aspire to be.

You say that there is a serious flaw in my thinking? That whoever programs the robot controls the world? That chief programmer might be a bad guy. Well, yeah. Maybe. So what? We have one man who controls the computer world now. His name is Bill Gates. Are his thought processes any more reliable than a state-of-the-art robot? I think not.

Of course, we’ll have to wait a few years. We’ll need a variation of a quantum computer to use as the intellectual processor. We’ll get there. In the meantime, we need to find a programmer to get this project going.

What characteristics does this programmer need to attempt this monumental job? Well, he needs to have the intellect of a thousand Einstein’s, the …

To be continued…
